Zimmerman Follows Mathews From Ventura College to USF

Ventura College’s Gerald Zimmerman committed to University of San Francisco on Thursday and will be reunited with former Pirate Coach Phil Mathews.
Zimmerman, a 6-foot-6 guard, averaged 12.7 points for Ventura, which won its second consecutive state title.
Baseball
Brian Luderer of Crespi High, an All-Southern Section shortstop who moved to catcher this season, has committed to Oklahoma. Luderer is batting .487 and leads area players with 24 runs batted in.
Miscellany
The Cal State Northridge women’s swimming and diving team has been named to the College Swimming Coaches Assn. of America Academic All-American team.
Northridge, with its 3.06 grade-point average, ranked 23rd in the nation.
