BUENA PARK — A 39-year-old woman was dragged about 600 feet after two robbers snatched her purse and sped away while the victim’s clothing was caught inside the car door, police said Thursday.
As she was putting groceries in her trunk, Usha Patel of Buena Park was robbed at the Ralphs parking lot in the 5400 block of Beach Boulevard on Wednesday, Buena Park Police Lt. Bob Chaney said.
Patel told investigators that a man jumped out of a car and grabbed her purse from the shopping cart about 8:15 p.m. Her clothes were caught in his car door as she struggled to retrieve her purse. The car took off, and Patel got loose after several minutes.
Patel was treated at West Anaheim Medical Center for a broken ankle and cuts. Her purse was found without cash, Chaney said.
Witnesses are asked to call police at (714) 562-3935.
