Red Sox Finally Find Way Into Victory Column Again

The Boston Red Sox had just ended their seven-game losing streak, and someone asked Manager Kevin Kennedy if he considered it a big win.
“Yeah, we’re 3-12 now,” he said with a wry grin.
There was no music, no joking and very little laughter in the Boston clubhouse after the Red Sox defeated Mike Mussina and the Baltimore Orioles, 10-7, Thursday at Baltimore. For one thing, Boston was still nine games under .500 and 8 1/2 games out of first place.
The Red Sox tagged Mussina for six runs and 10 hits in six innings.
Seattle 11, Detroit 3--Alex Rodriguez hit his first career grand slam and the Mariners tied a team record with their eighth consecutive victory.
Edgar Martinez and Jay Buhner hit consecutive home runs. At 12-4, the Mariners are off to their best start ever.
Milwaukee 8, Kansas City 2--Kevin Seitzer homered and drove in four runs for the Brewers at Kansas City.
Seitzer hit his fifth home run of the season off former teammate Mark Gubicza in the sixth.
