Chapman’s Lopez Limits SCC to One Hit

COSTA MESA — Ralph Lopez pitched a one-hitter and struck out 11 as Chapman beat Southern California College, 9-0, in a nonconference baseball game Thursday at SCC.
Jeremy Preis and Cale Shepherd each had three hits and drove in a run and Luis Garcia had a double and two runs batted in for Chapman (17-13).
Joe Rivera had a fourth-inning single for Southern California College’s only hit. Lopez (2-2) walked two and faced only two batters over the minimum.
