Residents’ Trash Fees Going Down

SAN CLEMENTE — Starting this month, residents will be paying a little less for their trash service.
Because the county recently reduced its landfill fees by nearly 23%, the City Council has voted to cut what residents pay for trash collection.
Residents with 35-gallon containers will now pay $11.96 a month, down from $12.37. Households with 67-gallon garbage bins will pay $13.64, down from $14.42.
The city’s garbage is collected by Solag Disposal, which brought the new trash pickup rates to the council for approval. The changes are reflected in this month’s bills, city officials said.
