Bradley Transferred to Start Rehab After Stroke, Surgery

Former Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley, who suffered a stroke April 3 while hospitalized after heart surgery, was transferred Thursday to a rehabilitation facility at Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital in Inglewood.
Bradley suffered a heart attack while driving his car March 20. He was hospitalized about two weeks before undergoing triple-bypass surgery at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Los Angeles. He suffered the stroke less than a day after the operation.
Dr. David Alexander of Daniel Freeman said it is time to start the 78-year-old former UCLA athlete on a rehabilitation program.
Bradley has been unable to speak since the stroke and is partially paralyzed on his right side.
