Albert E. Lewin, 79, writer of books and scripts for stage, screen, television and radio. Lewin grew up in New York and Chicago and attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Los Angeles Valley College. He co-wrote two books, “The Thesaurus of Slang” and “The Glass Bed,” two plays, “The Gift Horse” and “The Will,” nine film screenplays including “Eight on the Lam,” three television films including “Coffee, Tea or Me,” segments of 29 television series including “My Favorite Martian” and “Gilligan’s Island,” and such radio shows as “Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy” and “The Eddie Cantor Show.” On Tuesday in Los Angeles of congestive heart failure.
