Making Cents: Mileage Points Don’t Always Add Up

It’s great fun to pile up those miles for a free trip, and using a credit card and other methods can speed up the process. You may have figured in the extra card fees or other costs of earning miles, but remember to weigh the true value of the trip. Flying on a “free ticket” when you could have bought during an air fare sale cheapens the reward. And despite the thrill of flying, would that vacation have been any less pleasant if spent closer to home?
