Nation IN BRIEF : NATIONWIDE : Campaign Tells Kids: ‘Character Counts!’

A campaign to teach children right from wrong was launched in Washington by 400 children, actors, representatives, senators and TV characters. A coalition of nearly 100 educational, youth service and civic organizations called “Character Counts!” unveiled a video of skits and songs that teach children trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship. The group displayed instructional videos for educators, a book of activities and lesson plans, rules of conduct for coaches and a parents’ guide to teaching character.
