Husbands (Bravo Friday at 5 and 11 p.m.). In this 1970 film, one of John Cassavetes’ finest, he and off-screen buddies Peter Falk and Ben Gazzara play three married friends on a desperate flight into adolescence and irresponsibility. The film has a ruthless improvisatory quality, digging into these men’s callous high jinks and then, almost offhandedly, exposing the despair and uncertainty beneath.
