Assembly Agenda

In his April 14 Opinion column, “Republicans Acting as if Willie Brown Is Still in Charge,” Tony Quinn presumes to tell Assembly Republicans how to manage their affairs. No thanks.
Quinn, who failed miserably at building Republican support while working for former Assembly Speaker Doris Allen, is not surprising anyone now when he criticizes the Republican leadership in the Assembly.
Quinn claims Republicans lack an agenda and a “positive record.” But the truth is that under Speaker Curt Pringle more Republican bills passed in one month than were passed in the last decade. Quinn cites only three Republican bills--one which did not pass--as examples of the Republican agenda. Where is his commentary on the other 260 bills that promise real reform for welfare, burdensome government regulation, criminal justice and tort law?
