Wood Gives MetroStars Rare Win

A.J. Wood, a probable member of this summer’s U.S. Olympic team, scored his second goal in as many games to give the New York/New Jersey MetroStars (4-6) a 1-0 Major League Soccer victory over the Dallas Burn (6-5) before 10,610 at the Cotton Bowl Sunday.
Washington D.C. 3, Colorado 2--John Maessner’s goal with two minutes left in regulation forced a tie and United (3-7) won in a shootout before 8,617 at Mile High Stadium in Denver. The Rapids are 4-5.
