WASHINGTON, D.C. : U.S. Says CIA Clerks Stole Credit Cards

Three CIA mail clerks stole more than 100 government credit cards intended for the agency’s spies and used them to run up $190,000 in cash advances and consumer purchases over nine months, court records and government officials disclosed. The government alleges that the three clerks, who earn around $26,000 a year, were able to steal Visa, Mastercard and Diners Club credit cards the government had obtained for use by CIA employees as the cards moved through the CIA’s mail and diplomatic pouch rooms.
