Mitsubishi Unveils Plan for Awareness Training: The Japanese auto maker, which denies federal allegations of widespread sexual harassment at its Illinois car plant, said it will hire two women managers in new equal employment opportunity and communications positions and will offer immediate, one-day sexual harassment prevention training for thousands of Mitsubishi Motor Manufacturing of America Inc. workers. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed suit against the company in April alleging that hundreds of female workers were subjected to harassment at the Normal, Ill., plant. Women’s groups and a lawyer for workers who say they were sexually harassed called the move a public relations campaign and hypocritical “baby steps.” A federal official said it won’t affect the government lawsuit.
