Just imagine: 30 of America’s top chefs cooking for you under the stars. Add an assortment of wines from 60 first-rate California wineries. With two wine stations per food stall, the odds bless the grape lovers. Welcome to the 14th annual American Wine and Food Festival. The cookout will take place Saturday on the Spartacus set of the Universal Studios back lot in Burbank.
The food of chefs Alice Waters, Anne Rosenzweig, Jimmy Schmidt, Paul Prudhomme, Larry Forgione and Bradley Ogden along with L.A.’s Mark Peel, Nancy Silverton, Joachim Splichal and Nobu Matsuhisa will hold court with wines by Robert Mondavi, Chateau Montelena, Chalone, Kendall-Jackson, Sanford, Iron Horse and Trefethen, to name a few.
Proceeds from the event, organized by the Wolfgang Puck Charitable Foundation, will go to the Los Angeles Meals on Wheels programs. Tickets, $175, will be sold at the gate. 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. For more information: (310) 652-3706.
