Dameron Leads the Charge as Villa Park Defeats Valley

SANTA ANA — Dache Dameron rushed for 201 yards and scored three touchdowns to lead Villa Park to a 48-6 victory over Santa Ana Valley in a Century League game Thursday night at Santa Ana Stadium.
Dameron scored on the third play from scrimmage after Nathan Johnson recovered a Falcon fumble on the Santa Ana Valley 25. Dameron had runs of 11, seven and seven, the final one for a touchdown and a 7-0 Villa Park lead.
Ryan Wann scored from three yards to give Villa Park a 14-0 lead with 7 minutes 38 seconds left in the first quarter.
Edgar Marin connected on his first of two successful field goals, a 43-yarder for Santa Ana Valley, to reduce the lead to 14-3 late in the first quarter.
Dameron scored from the two, then Marin hit a 38-yard field goal with 12 seconds left to make it 21-6 at halftime.
Villa Park (3-5, 1-2 in league) put the game completely out of reach with three touchdowns in the third quarter.
After recovering an unsuccessful Falcon on-side kick to open the second half, the Spartans drove 54 yards on five plays with Dameron scoring from eight yards.
Robby McConchie scored on a 30-yard touchdown pass from Matt Jackson and Jim Ulloa scored on a seven-yard run as the Spartans led, 41-6, after three quarters.
Aaron Verboom scored a two-yard touchdown and Mike Clemens hit the extra point to complete the scoring.
Jackson hit seven of 12 passes for 139 yards for Villa Park.
Santa Ana Valley (0-8, 0-3) starting quarterback Mike Silvas connected on eight of 31 pass attempts for 67 yards with three interceptions.
