Odwalla Inc. completed its recall of apple and carrot juice products as health officials reported more than 30 confirmed or suspected E. coli cases in three states. One of the most seriously affected victims, 2-year-old Tara Azizi of Concord, Calif., was listed in critical but stable condition with kidney failure, but doctors said she is expected to recover. Odwalla, based in Half Moon Bay, Calif., launched the recall in seven Western states and Canada after E. coli cases in Washington state were linked to its unpasteurized apple juice. “As near as we can tell, the recall is complete,” said Scott Lewis of the California Department of Health Services. Odwalla executives said they have so far failed to find any E. coli in their juice products but will continue to examine them. Washington experienced the most cases--15 confirmed and 10 suspected--although not all have been linked to Odwalla juices.
