Grant Spurs Creation of Chemistry Lab

A 2-year-old grant from the National Science Foundation has resulted in establishment of a state-of-the-art geochemistry research laboratory at Cal State Long Beach.
Professors predicted that some of the first projects at the lab will be explorations of how petroleum hydrocarbons are formed, as well as how some bacteria is able to clean itself. But another important benefit is the laboratory’s potential to attract later grants, they said.
