An already tight Assembly race in the Glendale-Burbank area became even closer Friday, according to the latest absentee vote count by the county registrar-recorder.
Republican John Geranios gained 166 votes to narrow the gap between him and Democrat Scott Wildman, who was leading the 43rd Assembly District race Tuesday night by just 544 votes.
Wildman now leads Geranios by 378 votes.
“‘We’re cautiously optimistic,” Geranios campaign manager Mike Madrid said.
Wildman could not be reached for comment.
Countywide, more than 100,000 absentee ballots remain uncounted, but there is no tally on how many of them were cast in the 43rd Assembly District.
Another vote update is expected Monday.
