QUEEN CREEK, Ariz. — A professional rodeo roper lassoed a man around the neck and dragged him behind a pickup truck in a dispute over a pool game, police said.
Police said Jared Stark’s head would have been torn off if he had not managed to hold onto the rope. He was hospitalized with friction burns on his legs, buttocks, arm and neck.
Brian Tanner Adams, 21, was arrested Thursday and jailed on $25,000 bail on charges of attempted murder.
Police said Adams and two other men got upset Monday after losing a game of pool at a bar. As the two winners left, Adams and his friends followed them home and lassoed Stark, police said. Police sought the two other men.
