Joseph L. Mankiewicz’s clever 1952 spy thriller is smarter than most. Based on the real-life World War II “Operation Cicero” scandal--with James Mason (pictured) as the impeccable British valet turned traitor--the film also features Danielle Darrieux, Michael Rennie and Herbert Berghof (Cinemax Sunday at noon).
