YORBA LINDA — A 17-year-old girl trying to break up a fight at her sister’s birthday party Saturday night was stabbed once in the leg, police said Sunday.
The incident occurred in the 5500 block of Picasso Drive. The victim, a juvenile, was treated and released at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Anaheim.
Police did not identify the victim because she is a juvenile.
In a news release, Yorba Linda Police Lt. Douglas Dickerson said, “Apparently some subjects who had not been invited to the party had crashed it and began fighting with several invited guests.”
The stabbing occurred after the fight was halted, Dickerson said, noting, “there were several gang members in attendance.”
The suspect is still at large.
