Chapman, Cal Lutheran Play Tonight

The Chapman women’s basketball team, which has given Cal Lutheran (3-0) fits the last two seasons, will play the Regals tonight in Thousand Oaks.
Two seasons ago, the Panthers stopped Cal Lutheran’s 23-game winning streak with a 98-96 victory in Orange. Last year, they ended a two-season Cal Lutheran home winning streak with a 75-54 victory and beat the Regals, 74-66, in Orange.
The Regals (3-0) are led by seniors Melissa Wood, who is averaging 22.7 points, and Evi Orologas (18 points, 14 rebounds). Chapman (2-1) is led by sophomore Lyndsay Brown (13, six).

Men’s basketball: Chapman defeated Northwestern (Iowa), 65-63, Saturday in the final of the Pacific Christian tournament, when Aaron Aguilera rebounded a missed shot by Wayemon Powell and scored with one second left.
Aguilera and reserve point guard Richard Johnson were named to the all-tournament team.
The Panthers (4-1) play in the Redlands tournament Thursday through Saturday.

Men’s soccer: Three from Southern California College and two from Concordia will play in the Senior Bowl, an all-star soccer game, at 6 p.m. Friday at SCC.
SCC’s Peter Schumerth (midfielder), Brad Bentley (defender) and Tony Lopez (forward) and Concordia’s Garon Eikermann (defender) and Joe Alexander (defender) will play on the NAIA Far West Region team against Vanguard Ministries, an Orange-County based semiprofessional team.
