Blake to Miss All-Star Game

Defenseman Rob Blake, named to the Western Conference all-star team, will not play in the Jan. 18 game in San Jose because of a broken right hand suffered Dec. 26.
With Blake sidelined, center Ray Ferraro is a likely choice to be named to the team since it is NHL policy to have every team represented in the game.

Defenseman Jan Vopat was recalled from the Phoenix Roadrunners, the Kings’ IHL affiliate. Vopat underwent back surgery Oct. 22.
