Professor [Roger] Waldinger tells us, “I suspect that ethnic mixing will prove a transitory phenomena, to be swept away by the large number of new Latino immigrants who are sure to come.” In other words, we are in a transition phase and the San Fernando Valley is about to become a northern suburb of Mexico.
Welcome to 1997, Professor Waldinger, and so long Mr. and Mrs. America. As you point your U-Haul out of Los Angeles, ask yourself how a nation could be so stupid as to allow itself to be overwhelmed without even putting up a fight.
