Laker update--The availability of Shaquille O’Neal will be a game-time decision because of the sprained right ankle that kept him out of Friday’s win at the Forum. He made the trip up Saturday, as did Rumeal Robinson, out the last three games because of flu. The Lakers have won five consecutive games, tying the longest run of the season, and 11 of 13 as they begin another back-to-back series. This one concludes at Portland.
Grizzly update--Anthony Peeler and George Lynch, traded from the Lakers to the Grizzlies in July, are both starting. In fact, Peeler is flourishing, averaging 14.5 points a game, second on the team to rookie Shareef Abdur-Rahim. Lynch is contributing 8.5 points and six rebounds. The Grizzlies have the fewest victories in the Western Conference and are on a four-game losing streak.
