Hillel at Pierce and Valley colleges invites the public to laugh for a good cause tonight as it presents “Comedy Nite ‘97,” a fund-raiser for the Jewish campus group.
Six comedians will ply their trade beginning at 8 p.m. at the Main Theater in Pierce’s Performing Arts Building, 6201 Winnetka Ave.
The annual comedy night is the primary fund-raiser for Hillel, which offers an array of social and cultural programs for students at the two Valley schools.
During the evening, Mayim Bialik, star of the TV series “Blossom,” and Jason Hervey, who starred in “The Wonder Years,” will be honored for “being positive Jewish role models for the youth in our community,” said Nomi Gordon, Hillel director.
The master of ceremonies for Comedy Nite ’97 will be Phil Stellar, and the comedians are Amy Ashton, Peter Fogel, Allan Murray, Jeff Rothpan, Marci Smolin and Stu Trivax. All of the performers are volunteering their time for the event, Gordon said.
Tickets are $20. For more information, call (818) 887-5901.
