Villa Park 81, El Modena 50--Eric Chenowith had 28 points, 18 rebounds and eight blocked shots as fifth-ranked Villa Park defeated El Modena. Teammate Matt Poutsma scored 12 points and had 10 assists for the Spartans (14-4, 5-0).

In the Freeway League:

Buena Park 43, Troy 40 (OT)--Jerry Inzunza’s 30-foot attempt at the buzzer fell short as Buena Park (11-9, 2-2) defeated Troy. Ruben Gasso, who scored 15 points, made two free throws with two seconds left to give the Coyotes the three-point lead.

Sonora 58, Fullerton 38--Ben Jones had 23 points and 12 rebounds in a Freeway League victory for second-ranked Sonora (16-2, 4-0 in league). The Raiders outscored Fullerton 17-4 in the first quarter.

In the Orange League:

Brea Olinda 84, Valencia 56--Sean Wink scored 29 points as fifth-ranked Brea Olinda defeated Valencia to take sole possession of first place. The Wildcats, who outscored Valencia 24-12 in second quarter, are now 17-3, 4-0 in league. Robert Smith scored 18 points for Valencia (13-7, 3-1).

In the Pacific Coast League:

Aliso Niguel 92, University 83--Jeff Munsell had 25 points and 20 rebounds to lead Aliso Niguel (13-7, 3-1). Eric Palmer made a three-pointer at the buzzer for University (12-7, 3-1) to send the game to overtime. Palmer had 26 points and six steals.

In the Sea View League:

Woodbridge 69, Corona del Mar 34--Chris Burgess scored 24 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and had six blocked shots to lead fourth-ranked Woodbridge (16-3, 5-0). William Stovall added 12 points and five steals and Brandon Beeson scored 13 points for the Warriors.

In the Sunset League:

Los Alamitos 75, Edison 56--Kevin Staniec had 21 points and Monroe Moore added 18 to lead third-ranked Los Alamitos (17-2, 4-0). Dimitri Karnezis had a game-high 27 points for Edison (10-8, 2-2).
