Big West Baseball Ranked Third in ’96
The Big West Conference ranked third in the nation behind the Southeastern and Atlantic Coast conferences in college baseball last season.
The ratings are based on the NCAA’s Ratings Percentage Index, which factors a team’s winning percentage and its Division I opponents’ winning percentage.
The ratings are a factor in determining the 19 conferences that qualify for automatic bids into NCAA regional tournament play and also are considered by the committee in evaluating at-large selections.
The Western Athletic Conference made the biggest jump, going from 20th to ninth.
