Landau to Blame

Sid Landau, thrice-accused, twice-convicted child molester, finds himself to be the first known such offender in Southern California to be the subject of “Megan’s Law” (“Convicted O.C. Child Molester Fired From Job,” Jan. 15).

This ruling allows for the public announcement of such an offender’s whereabouts to the neighborhood in which he takes up residence. Landau decries the demonstrations in front of his residence by concerned neighbors and parents. He cries, “Unfair!”

I ask of him, “Where was the fairness you exhibited toward the children whom you violated?” Landau bemoans being fired from his job, saying that he is being denied a chance to make good. I ask, “What chance did you give those kids?”

In Placentia, some officials are concerned that they may have overstepped legal bounds in their actions, while the rules are in the process of being written. I say, “Bravo! You are helping to write the rules!”
