Amplicon Inc.: The Santa Ana company, which sells and leases high-technology equipment, reported that net income for the second quarter increased 19% to $3.8 million, or 66 cents a share, from $3.2 million, or 55 cents a share, for the second quarter of a year ago. Revenue for the quarter ended Dec. 31 advanced 13% to $74.4 million from $65.6 million. Net earnings for the first six months rose 21% to $7 million, or $1.20 a share, from $5.8 million, or $1 a share, a year ago. Revenue gained 15% to $140.9 million from $122.1 million.
