Flyers End Drought by Defeating Coyotes

From Associated Press

The Flyers stopped a few slumps Tuesday night at Philadelphia.

Eric Lindros ended the longest goal drought of his career at six games, Shjon Podein scored for the first time since Dec. 15 and the Flyers ended a three-game winless slide with a 4-1 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes.

“When I scored, I felt a huge thing come off my chest, a lot of guilt,” Podein said. “It was on my mind a lot. I felt like I was disappointing because I wasn’t helping the team.”

Lindros’ 14th goal of the season came with 2:20 left in the third period and he also had an assist for the Flyers, who took a season-high 55 shots, including a 23-4 edge in the second period.
