** 1/2 Various artists, “She’s a Rebel!,” Shanachie/Beloved. Benefiting Rock for a Cure, a nonprofit organization fighting breast cancer, this sludgy, jagged compilation trolls clubs rather than Top 40 radio for its raw mix of female-heavy bands. The Muffs lob two power-pop grenades, Tribe 8 trudges through “Tranny Chaser” and 7 Year Bitch crunches out a punk anti-lullaby. Though the bands sometimes disappoint, it’s mostly rowdy fun for a good cause.
Albums are rated on a scale of one star (poor), two stars (fair), three stars (good) and four stars (excellent).
