California Commercial Bankshares: The Newport Beach parent company of National Bank of Southern California reported a profit of $3.8 million, or $1.26 a share, for 1996, contrasted with a net loss of $3.3 million, or $1.30 a share, for 1995.
For the fourth quarter, net income totaled $1.4 million, or 47 cents a share, contrasted with a year-earlier net loss of $1.7 million, or 59 cents a share. Total assets rose 5% to $351.5 million from $334 million.
