Premier’s Lawyer: ‘No Chance’ of Charges

Benjamin Netanyahu’s lawyer said there was “no chance” the Israeli prime minister would face criminal charges after being questioned by police over alleged government corruption. Lawyer Yaakov Weinrot, hired by the prime minister over the weekend, said Netanyahu had done no wrong in connection with the ill-fated appointment of an attorney general last month. Netanyahu called for a “thorough investigation” into allegations on Israel Television on Jan. 22 that the short-lived appointment of Roni Bar-On as attorney general was part of a shady deal with a politician on trial on corruption charges.
