King update--With 16 of their final 20 games in the regular-season against Western Conference opponents, the Kings can still move back into the playoff picture. For the first time since mid-January, they have a two-game winning streak. Goaltender Stephane Fiset, who made a career-high 48 saves against his former team in a 3-1 loss at Colorado on Feb. 11, has won his last two starts and has given up only five goals in his last four games.
Avalanche update--Not only has Colorado been the top team in the league for most of the season, but the defending Stanley Cup champion has developed a comeback mentality. Since the All-Star break, the Avalanche has won several games in the late stages, beating Ottawa on Sunday in one of them, 4-3. Colorado rallied for three goals in the final six minutes.
