Mary A. Perez, a Ventura County resident for 67 years, died Tuesday at her Oxnard home of heart disease. She was 76.
She was born Aug. 7, 1920, in Las Cruces, N.M.
Perez was a cashier and bookkeeper at Paramount Bootery in Oxnard for more than a quarter century. After the store closed, she helped out at the Santa Clara High School cafeteria and volunteered at Food Share.
She is survived by her husband, Leopoldo Perez; two children, Jessie Garcia of Oxnard and Fernando Bausa of Port Hueneme; a brother, Louis Segovia of El Rio; a sister, Josephine Covarrubias of Oxnard; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. today at James A. Reardon Mortuary, Oxnard. Memorial services are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Santa Clara Church. Interment will be at Santa Clara Cemetery.
