Duck Shots

A weekly update on the Mighty Ducks.

A 6-2 victory over the Kings is a good way for the Ducks to extend their unbeaten streak to 12 games and halt the anxiety over the number of ties in it. The No. 4 playoff seeding is within reach.

* Where they stand: 30-30-11 (71 points), third in the Pacific Division, tied for sixth in the Western Conference.

* Who’s hot: The power play has scored in each of the last six games, which is the Ducks’ longest streak of the season.

* Who’s not: Kevin Todd, who is having trouble scoring, takes a seat in the stands to make room for Richard Park.

UPCOMING

* Today, at Colorado (6 p.m., no TV): Peter Forsberg is on a nine-game point streak and only now believes he is regaining the form he had before Dec. 28, when he had surgery on an injured thigh. Also getting back on his game is Joe Sakic, who scored three goals to beat Pittsburgh last Friday.

* Sunday, at Edmonton (noon, Fox Sports West 2): The Oilers are 5-15-2 against teams with winning records and 5-9-2 in their last 16 games. That’s not good for a team that was boasting of four strong lines and balanced scoring just one month ago.

* Tuesday, at Calgary (6:30 p.m., Fox Sports West 2): The Flames ended their 0-for-29 power-play slump with two goals against the Ducks last Sunday. That gave them a tie to end their seven-game trip with a 3-3-1 record.

* Wednesday, at Vancouver (7 p.m., no TV): How much trouble are the Canucks in? They were searching for something positive after a 4-2 loss to Colorado to end a five-game trip with a 1-3-1 record. A victory at Tampa Bay last Saturday ended a seven-game winless streak.
