Links Chapter Plans ‘Afternoon of Art’

The Channel Islands chapter of The Links Inc. will present “An Afternoon of Art” on Sunday, featuring African American artists from Ventura and Santa Barbara counties.
The free event will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Carnegie Cultural Arts Center, 424 South C St., Oxnard.
The Links is a nonprofit volunteer service organization made up of more than 9,600 women. Founded in Philadelphia in 1946, the organization focuses on cultural enrichment, education, health and civic involvement.
The local chapter was formed in 1982. Past projects have included fund-raisers for scholarships and needy families, youth self-esteem workshops and a walkathon for the National Cancer Awareness Project.
