The H.E.L.P. Fore Children CareAmerica Golf Classic will start at 9 a.m. Monday at the Valencia Country Club.

A putting contest will be followed at 10 a.m. by a shotgun-scramble tournament. A silent auction starts at 4:30 p.m., with an awards dinner featuring KABC talk-radio personality Peter Tilden scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

The Sherman Oaks-based H.E.L.P. group is a non-profit organization serving special-needs children, adults and families.

The Spring Festival of Champions figure-skating show will be presented by the Los Angeles Figure Skating Club from 5 to 7:30 tonight at the Pickwick Ice Arena in Burbank.

Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for senior citizens and children ages 5 to 16. Admission is free for children under 5.

Tryouts for the Ventura Arsenal under-14 boys’ soccer team will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Buena High.

Players are being sought from the Ojai, Santa Paula, Ventura and Oxnard areas for the 1997-98 club season. The Arsenal, for players with birthdates after July 31, 1983, competes in the El Camino Real Soccer League.
