STILLWATER, Okla. — Cal State Northridge withstood the cold and defeated ninth-ranked Oklahoma State, 6-4, in a nonconference baseball game Saturday at Oklahoma State.
Dan Pierce’s two-run double highlighted a three-run second inning and gave Northridge (31-15-1) a 4-3 lead.
Chris MacMillan was two for four, including his third home run of the season in the fifth inning for the Matadors.
Junior left-hander Erasmo Ramirez (7-3) allowed seven hits and struck out six through 6 2/3 innings. Jason Cole pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings to record his second save.
The second game of a scheduled doubleheader was called off because of strong winds and temperatures in the low 30s. The teams are scheduled to play today.
Josh Holliday and Rusty McNamara each had home runs for the Cowboys (27-11).
