Man Robbed While Walking Near Ventura Pier

A 72-year-old man strolling along the bike path near the Ventura Pier on Monday afternoon was overpowered by three teenagers who stole his watch and a gold ring, Ventura police said.
Ray Weiss of Saugus was walking near the Holiday Inn about 4:15 p.m. when the youths ran up to him and wrapped a long scarf several times around his neck. As Weiss struggled, the three robbed him.
Police are looking for three males about 16 years old. One wore a black-and-gray striped shirt and black pants. The others wore white shirts and black pants. One of the attackers was very heavy, police said. Weiss was not injured.
