Fullerton football player Joseph Emigh has orally committed to attend the U.S. Military Academy this fall, said Julian Smilowitz, coach and athletic director.
A two-time All-Freeway League selection, Emigh played linebacker and fullback for Fullerton, which finished the season 4-6.

Olympian Amanda Beard will take a brief hiatus from her high school swimming schedule as she competes in Goteborg, Sweden, at the FINA Short Course World Championships.
Beard, an Irvine sophomore who won silver medals in the Atlanta Olympics in the 100- and 200-meter breaststrokes, is scheduled to swim those events Thursday.
