Platinum Software Corp.: The Irvine financial software company reported a profit of $638,000, or 3 cents a share, for the third fiscal quarter ended March 31. For the year-earlier period, the company recorded a net loss of $14.5 million, or 97 cents a share, including a $4.2-million restructuring charge. Revenue rose 67% to $14 million from $8.4 million. A net loss of $1.9 million, or 11 cents a share, was posted for the nine-month period, compared with a net loss of $30 million, or $2.13 a share, for the comparable period a year ago. Revenue advanced 20% to $37.5 million from $31.2 million.
