THOUSAND OAKS — Authorities say three men held a man at gunpoint Friday, ransacked his home and stole cash and an expensive watch before leaving in the man’s sports utility vehicle.
The incident happened between 10:45 a.m. and noon in the 600 block of Triunfo Canyon Road. Rory Cypers, 26, was confronted inside his home by three men, all in their early 30s, said Sheriff’s Det. Joe Braga
One of the men held Cypers at gunpoint while they ransacked the house, Braga said. They took a Rolex watch, an undisclosed amount of cash, bank books and personal checks, along with the keys to Cypers’ 1997 Ford Explorer, Braga said.
According to Braga, the men ordered Cypers to drive them to his bank in Thousand Oaks, and one of the men forced Cypers to withdraw cashier’s checks and cash from his bank account.
They then forced Cypers to drive to Las Virgenes Canyon Road and the Ventura Freeway where they dropped him off and drove off in the Explorer.
The investigation is continuing.
