A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault Monday after a woman told police she was attacked when her car broke down about 4 a.m.
Rodolfo Dominguez of Santa Ana was being held at Huntington Beach City Jail with bail set at $50,000.
Police said the 23-year-old victim started walking home on Brookhurst Street when a man began chasing her, knocked her down and physically assaulted her while she struggled. She fought him until he fled, and Lt. Chuck Thomas said she got the license number of his Chevrolet van.
About an hour later, police in Fountain Valley arrested Dominguez and turned him over to Huntington Beach police. The victim identified the man as her attacker, Thomas said.
