Four local high school students have won scholarships to help them pursue careers in health care.
Shannon Davis of Anaheim was awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the Anaheim General Hospital Auxiliary. Jason Lee of Fullerton, Monica McLachlan of La Habra and Alicia Hernandez of La Habra each won $500.
The students were selected out of 22 applicants based on their academic achievement, leadership and community service, and plans to pursue careers in health care.
Auxiliary members expressed hope that the new scholarship program can be expanded next year to help more students.
