Police Investigating 3-Year-Old’s Death

LA HABRA — Police are investigating the death of a 3-year-old boy who suffered a fatal seizure that might have been caused by physical abuse, authorities said Tuesday.
Paramedics were summoned about 11 p.m. Sunday to the 1300 block of Lorella Avenue, where they found Daniel Morales suffering from a seizure, police spokeswoman Cindy Knapp said. The boy was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he died.
A preliminary autopsy Monday revealed evidence of child battery that contributed to the child’s death, but additional tests are needed to pinpoint the cause of death, Knapp said.
No one has been arrested. Police are asking anyone with information to call Det. Tom Dutton at (562) 905-9762.
