A truck driver who had a diabetic reaction while driving over the Conejo Grade on Tuesday afternoon was injured when his vehicle rolled over and he was trapped inside, California Highway Patrol officials said.
Shane Tysdale, 46, of Hawthorne, was driving north on the Ventura Freeway when he lost control of his truck, said CHP spokesman Dave Cockrill. The truck, which was traveling about 55 mph, left the road and overturned. Rescue workers pulled Tysdale from the wreck and took him to St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital in Camarillo, where he was listed in fair condition with contusions and a fractured hand.
The accident snarled traffic for three hours, Cockrill said. The CHP lifted a traffic advisory about 5 p.m.--just in time for the evening commute.
No one else was injured in the accident.
