A 26-year-old parolee whom Ventura police investigators suspect is responsible for six commercial burglaries over the last two weeks has been arrested in a Ventura motel.
Police allege Russell Albert Hughes used similar methods to conduct nighttime break-ins at five Harbor Boulevard businesses and one on Johnson Drive from May 12 to Wednesday.
Some of the estimated $10,000 worth of computers, software and cash stolen during the burglaries was recovered after Hughes’ arrest in his room at the Motel 6 on East Ventura Boulevard, police said.
The Bakersfield man, who had been at the motel for 10 days, was being held in County Jail after his arrest Wednesday. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Municipal Court today.
